SOMETHIN'S A BREWIN'

I'm still working on the details of this Photoshop study, but the tempo is emerging nicely. I want to add another dining table in the extreme forefront and upbeat the colors for better juxtapositioning. The brighter the foreground colors the more distant the figures appear from the buildings.

The painting will be a very small work measuring only 8 X 10. I like the idea (the task) of doing a miniature. Once I complete this work I am favoring the idea of doing the same style on a grander scale and without the 3M vinyl. It will all be in acrylics only. It'll be a lot easier to do without having to measure and cut everything. However, the difference other than materials will be the ability to create more depth with texture than with flat planes. It should be interesting.

And for those interested in my personal life (boring as it is) my doctor had good news and bad news about the kidney stones recently passed. They had diamonds in them. Yeah, I didn't believe that either. The bad news is that I have a couple more on the way. Wonder how much I can get for them on eBay?

AT LONG LAST

This is one of the few paintings I'm glad to say I have completed. There were many tasks within the work, all from which I learned a great deal from. Enough to want to continue with another painting in this series. My good friend - my best friend, actually - Luke has given me two more frames requiring a matched set of works. At the moment I haven't any ideas for this particular task, but promise the next painting will be on a par with the rest of the series. The Photoshop study will be following shortly.

Although it's officially spring with daffodils still blooming in full force and the cotton tree blossoms bursting, it's hard to believe we can still experience some snow today. At least that's what the geniuses of Baltimore weather are calling for. They aren't exactly prophets in the biblical sense, but I have my umbrella on the ready in case they get lucky.

STILL IN HIDING

I've been working diligently with this monster of a work. It's been a lot of fun working in the details (with many more to come). After a fairly long absense I thought I'd give you all a glimpse at how this thing is progressing. The hot air balloons, as you can well guess are still in the beginning stages. This will be my focus for the rest of this week's work. Afterwards, I'll decide whether the work is finished or not.

The weather has been very strange in this corner of the world. Last week my father and I went for a walk (he actually gave his power chair a test run while I walked) in 82 degree weather. Today it's bitter cold out with a chance of snow later on in the day. Southern France, here I come.
